The bistro style chairs come in an industrial design in metal, with variations in the finish and noticeable hand welded parts, all in keeping with the Industrial style. This is not a fault in the chairs, this is part of their design and overall charm. Our Scandinavian style table, bench and chairs set is made with solid quality Grade A Kiln dried wood, ensuring your piece is of superior quality to that of reclaimed wood or scaffold boards, which can be prone to warping due to high humidity levels. Each solid wood table top is unique, planed and sanded to a smooth finish, using only the best quality oils and waxes to protect the wood. This offers a beautiful, durable, rustic and hard wearing finish which can be easily cleaned and maintained. We are sure you will enjoy your table for years to come. Our Grade A rustic furniture, tables & benches are handmade using fully seasoned Kiln Dried Wood and checked for humidity levels. All wood tops are handmade to order so will have variations in colour, finish and wood grain as wood is a natural product so variations are to be expected. Wood will expand and contract depending on relative humidity and moisture content changes in the atmosphere. With wood movement there may be slight seasonal changes to your wood, this is normal and to be expected with any natural wood product. There may be knots, dings and slight cracks to the wood which is part of the woods natural beauty. HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR FURNITURE. All wood must be allowed to come to a state of balance with its environment in order to prevent moisture-related damage.

This state of balance is called equilibrium moisture content, or EMC. For example, if a table top is sealed off with a pvc cover, this will cause naturally occurring moisture only to penetrate from below the table, the uncovered side.

This will cause the lower side to swell while the upper, sealed off side remains the same. This can result in a warp in the table. Without the pvc cover on top, both sides would have absorbed moisture evenly and the table would have expanded and contracted with minimal (or no) warping. To avoid this from happening, do not cover your table top on a permanent basis as this will imbalance the equilibrium of the table.

Only use covers or coasters when in use and remove once you have finished your meal. For day to day cleaning, your surface can be dry wiped, swept or vacuumed.

To clean the table, lightly dampen a cloth with water or use a microfiber cloth that will cling to dust particles on its own. Wipe up spillages promptly and never allow water to sit on the table top!

Do not use abrasive products on your table and bench tops. Do not place the table next to a radiator and avoid in rooms where there is underfloor heating. The temperature changes could damage the wood with warping or splitting. As with all woodwork, from flooring to trim, from dining tables to other furnishings, try to keep humidity levels in your home between 40 and 45%. Any lower could crack the wood and any higher could cause swelling. This may mean running a humidifier in the winter and an a/c or dehumidifier in the summer.
